My German grandmother recently passed away and her funeral was held 2 weeks after her death. I was told that by German law a deceased body must lie for 3 days before preparation for burial. Well, that delayed it to the week before Easter which is Holy Week and they postponed her funeral the the following week. Does anyone know anything about this?
